The extension ladder did a lot of help on my installation wires, allowing me to enter a narrow space and work. Some bends when I stand on it (I weigh 180 pounds) but feel safe and sturdy. The steps are easy to move and lock securely. Comes in a Velcro strap that folds. Any car's trunk can basically be loaded. It makes so much more sense than trying to drag a giant ladder around inside a house. The first week we had it, a smoke alarm way up in a cathedral ceiling decided its battery was dead and began shrieking in the middle of the night. Just grabbed this ladder and the problem was solved in minutes without having to go out in the garage or outside to get the big ladders. It's not heavy at all for a man, but its a bit heavy for a small woman, but I can still easily carry it if I really wanted to...like to shut up a smoke detector at 3am! I will be getting these for gifts for my family members, even though my not-yet-a-homeowner old son will probably not be too thrilled .... until he needs it someday!
