## Overview

The Sescom LN2MIC-ZMH4-MON is a professional 3.5mm line-to-mic attenuation cable designed for Zoom H4N recorders, featuring 25dB attenuation to prevent audio clipping, a built-in headphone monitoring jack for real-time sound checks, and broad compatibility with Canon and Nikon DSLR cameras. Its compact, lightweight design and optimized impedance deliver pristine audio quality for prosumer videographers and content creators.

## Description

The sescom ln2mic-zmh4-mon cable is designed for portable digital audio recorders and mic preamps with a single output jack. This jack is typically used for headphone monitoring or connecting to a dslr audio input for recording. The ln2mic-zmh4-mon y-splitter cable allows you to do both monitoring and recording from a single output jack. It also features a -25db l pad attenuator on both audio channels to reduce the prosumer line level output (-10dbv) to your camera's mic input sweet spot level. It's the perfect mating cable for zoom h4n recorders when connecting to canon d5 mkii but also works great for other similar mic preamps and dslr cameras that require 25db of attenuation. The cable is designed with the proper impedances to assure maximum voltage transfer and low noise operation. The cable shield is isolated on the camera end to prevent shield noise from directly coupling into the camera connector ground. The cable allows users to go directly from the audio recorder into the camera and also monitor with headphones, creating a compact and elegant interface solution. All resistors values are 1% metal film to assure similar voltage attenuation between the stereo inputs. Cable ends are labeled for proper connection.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: Does this cable let monitoring the sons while I'm recording with the Nikon D5200 which hasn't an output for headphones?**
A: Yes, you can plug your headphones into this for monitoring the sound. Your camera needs to have an external microphone input to use this.

**Q: Will this work with zoom h1? has anyone tried it with dslr and h1?**
A: I have used it with a canon 70d & tascam dr-05. as for the zoom h1 it should work as long as it has a line-in or mic input with a 3.5mm port.

**Q: Will this cord (sescom ln2mic-zmh4-mon 3.5mm line to mic 25db attenuation cable) function properly on the tascam dr- 40, 4 track recorder?**
A: I've never used the Tascam, but I know it's basically the same thing as the Zoom H4n. You would take this Sescom line out of your 1/8 output on the Tascam and into your camera.

**Q: Does this cord help cut out the hissing that plauges mics that get plugged directly into dslr's?**
A: Yes

## Customer Reviews

### ⭐⭐ Connection to camera induces a lot of crackle when turned
*by G***A on 4 November 2020*

I got this to connect to my various Sony cameras via a Tascam 70D. The cable connectors are quite cheap looking plastic ones rather than the better quality ones in one of the photos. Cable seems to do as it claims and reduces hiss compared to a normal 3.5mm cable, however the main problem is the connection into the camera (and I have tried this with multiple cameras) after inserting the 3.5mm connector, any rotational movement i.e. turning or jiggling it creates a really noticeable crackling on the right hand audio channel like a bad connection. If it is not moved then not a problem, but even a slight brush against it causes a crackle so this doesn't inspire confidence when recording critical sound. So instead of removing the hassle of post recording syncing audio with video it has introduced a level of anxiety as if I monitor from the camera rather than the headphone splitter output I think the crackle is also being recorded on the 70D (which it isn't). I have a feeling it is down to the cheap sealed 3.5mm connector that goes into the camera when an individually soldered quality connector would not be so prone to this problem.
