Once purchased I didn't really know what to do with it other than cooking steaks. I'm so glad I found this cookbook. It has some great recipes for using the salt block that you wouldn't normally think of, like olive oil tortillas or blackened catfish, as well as a lot of recipes that don't include using the salt block, like an amazing sea bass ceviche. I'm contemplating buying a salt block for my daughter and her boyfriend as a home-warming gift.
