OK for costumes/dress up as a WW1 era doughboy or display (what I use the helmet for) or WW1 thru the 1960's British soldier. Good if used as designed for. If you want something similar but with better protection for airsoft use, I'd recommend a helmet like the Modern American soldier uses or maybe a WW2 thru the Viet Nam era style. Even better would be an off road motorcycle/ATV helmet with a face shield! More expensive but provides MUCH better protection to the head and face than open face plastic toys. **Q: Can it act like a baseball cap to lessen the sun's rays on my head?** A: It provided adequate coverage for my 9yo son who is on the smaller side. I’m not sure it would be quite as protective for an adult. It is also pretty shallow so it didn’t fit snuggly on my son’s head, (like a baseball cap would) and the strap is pretty much decorative, so I’m not sure how functional it would be for sun coverage either. **Q: Is it the size of a real one?** A: Yes I think so **Q: Is it durable enough to use in airsoft?** A: No definitely not. It’s more of a costume/dress up type hat. All in all a good helmet for the price. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Good for price. Chinstrap is the only weakness *by S***N on May 14, 2021* Nice piece. NOT for reenacting, it's simple and plastic but it seems to be the right size and shape. Great for costumes/larp/cosplay. Especially if you don't mind putting a little work into it. Mine came with pretty good foam padding inside, good enough I didn't mess with it any more. The chin strap is black nylon, looks kinda tacky to me so I'm going to replace it with a leather strap. I'm not sure how long the nylon strap will hold up anyway. But other than the chin strap, absolutely worth the money. Decently thick, I'm guessing the same as the metal one though I've not held an original.
