A: It's not a "bung" it's a hard fibre type plastic threaded cable grip.
Try Christopher Wray of Chelsea the lamp shop. They do do some special devices for what you are trying to do.

**Q: Will the base fit through a 10mm ring plate please?**
A: The threaded hole in the base of the lampholder measures 9mm

**Q: Will this fit a Jack Daniels bottle?**
A: Not without adaptation as the bing is too small for the neck of the bottle
