So the answer would no. You could flange it out if you had to make it work. **Q: what is the diameter of the bottom hole of the recessed box? 1.5” or 2” and is it threaded?** A: Both, 2&1.5”, 2” pipe slips over the connector and 1.5 slides inside of the connector of the box. No threads, it is for solvent connections. **Q: does this come WITH the air admittance valve as shown in the picture? is that for 1 1/2 drain vent, or 2"?** A: Mine came with everything shown; air admitance valve, mounting box, and the cover plate. It was a very easy installation and good value for the money. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Works great *by C***G on February 9, 2026* Makes a very clean neat install and still allows access for service. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Saves a lot of work by not needing to go thru the attic roof vent *by J***O on April 6, 2026* I had to move a bathtub drain and needed a way to vent it, I didn’t want to notch-cut thru 3 joints that would be located under the bathtub as it would weaken them, and an island-tub full of water with occupant is extremely heavy. This valve was my saving grace, It works perfectly and if your handy installation is relatively easy. It is well made and the wall box is just what I needed. Just make sure the vent is slightly above the bathtub overflow (or higher) so if the main drain gets completely blocked (rare occurrence) the water won’t be able to rise higher then the vent backup through the valve.
