They don't like long car rides and we live in a rural area so it takes us a while to get anywhere. Without a movie to watch in the car, they get bored. I had bought a generic universal cord at Walmart to replace the one that broke, against my husband's advice. Turns out he was right. The universal cord that I bought (that was more expensive than this one) ended up blowing a fuse in our vehicle. Replaced the fuse, plugged the DVD player back in, that fuse blew too. So we tossed the universal cord and I did what I should have done in the first place and checked desertcart for a the name brand replacement. Thanks to desertcart Prime it arrived in 2 days. Plugged it in and no blown fuses. Works like a charm. I was afraid we were going to have to buy a new system entirely. This purchase saved me a ton of money. I definitely recommend and I also recommend staying away from universal cords that aren't from the original manufacturer as they seem to have a problem blowing fuses.
