I purchased it in 2014, but just now need to use it,** A: Its pretty straight forward and I did look on line and did find a manual. Just connect the input to the in terminals and the output to your pre-amp or receiver input and you have additional gain that is controlled with the volume / gain knob on the front. I used it because the audio output from the customers satellite receiver was too low. He had to crank up the volume whenever he wanted the audio from that source. When he switched to another input the volume was way to high. I was able to balance the output from the satellite to be at the same level as the other sources. It works well **Q: Will this work if I hook it up to the pre outs of my stereo receiver going to a Bluetooth transmitter?** A: It would depend on what type of source the blue-tooth transmitter needs. This would be a line level analog type signal that would need an amplifier of some type after the signal source. My opinion is that as long as your blue-tooth is designed to receive an analog signal and convert it to a blue-tooth radio signal then yes it should work. I would add the pre-amp outs may or may not be going through the equalizer. **Q: Does this work for video/audio capture feed for gaming or cable/satellite tv?** A: This is an audio pre-amp and does not have any connection or value for video use. It's primary purpose is to increase signal strength from ear bud output of mp3, smart phones, etc. to connect to an audio power amplifier which does not have its own audio pre-amp. It's not a stand-alone audio amplifier. If you're using capture feed for gaming or cable/satellite TV they generally have line-out connections which is exactly what the output of the iBoost is. Hope this helps. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Great add-on for my turntable! *by A***R on January 13, 2025* I have a Pro-ject Debut Carbon attached to a Cambridge Audio Phono Preamp, with an MM Ortofon blue stylus. Sound quality is great but the volume was lacking. I had to turn the volume up but that brought very audible noise and made the quiet parts in records not fully enjoyable. I even bought another phono stage with a higher gain and still was not loud enough and introduced even more noise.Then I did some research and purchased this device. Placed it between the Phono preamp and the amplifier and now I have a good volume level with no distortion! The knob set at 1 o'clock gives me the loudness I was craving without noise! I wish I had known about this device years ago. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Does what it's supposed to do *by J***N on March 22, 2024* This definitely boosts the signal from a Bluetooth receiver going into a sound system.It was simple to set up.I connected with the supplied cables which are as cheaply made as possible but do the job. I then soldered up some custom length properly shielded interconnects after deciding where it got mounted.The sound quality is streaming over WiFi over Bluetooth good but not studio quality nor should it be for that price.It is noisy with the supplied cables. The process of amplifying a line level signal is not easy to do without introducing noise so I'm not upset for the price. Cheap inadequately shielded cables CAN be noisy depending on what you have around it, I knew that reading the reviews so I wasn't worried about the bad reviews. Some have noise (poor sound quality) because of the electrical interference in their house, I'm in a shop with chargers, compressors, led lights, and a machine that coats using static so good cables is a must for any audio equipment. Using the properly shielded cables made the noise virtually inaudible. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ Very good, very quiet *by N***E on June 14, 2024* Use with my Sansa Clip to play audio files through my old school stereo system.No added noise and very clean amplified audio to the amp. You do have to crank up the volume a bit, 6 or more on the unit volume control.Nice build quality and it comes with its own power supply! You will probably want to order a 1/8” 3.5mm male x male patch cord allowing you to plug one end into the earphone jack and the other into the front panel jack. This item is not included.I swapped cables with some far higher quality one I had but frankly, there was no audible difference.
