It copies the android tv or computer input. I. E. Won't work with roku applications or live tv. Only option is to use android tv box (with paid app) and use that for your Netflix /hulu apps while the app runs in background reading the images from your shows. Doesn't work with tv applications, only android applications cause its on android system. Same with computer. You install the program on the computer. It copies the computer image. If you use a monitor then it'll copy the monitor.. I took everything out of the box, I carefully setup the strip behind my monitor coiled the remaining portion into a small ball that over extended past the bounds of my screen. I then followed the directions on how to connect everything and in the end when I had everything all setup, only the first two LED's ever lit up. I thought it was because of the software needing to know the limits of which LED's to use to match my PC screens colors but after some troubleshooting I realized the LED strip itself was compromised. I was very discouraged with this product and do not suggest it. Most dynamic lighting setups seem to be around the $100 mark, specifically for ones like the Phillips Hue setup. It seems the cheap alternatives are just no there yet. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ 4.0 out of 5 stars Works on Linux. Here's what I found out. *by J***Y on Reviewed in the United States on August 29, 2019* Tried a windows machine with Ambibox app. The 3M 60 leds/M variety I bought has 180 leds. I used the Adalight device type and had to go into device manager to check the com port (click more settings to get the extra com port drop down). Couldn't get all the LEDs to light in any of the capture modes, but they did light fully in static. Good enough to test it.Moving on to Linux. I used woodenshark/Lightpack repo. Check issue 83 on github for minor change to make it compile. Otherwise the build instructions they have are good.I ran into a bug when using static light modes with the woodenshark repo. The light would get set, but then turn off after a minute. Check out psieg/Lightpack fork for one that doesn't have this bug. Still had some warnings that prevented compilation. Remove the QRect s line. Change the "const char* const" on the name() function to "std::string". This fork also has a couple extra features compared.The included udev rules are not appropriate for this device. I did something like:SUBSYSTEM=="tty", ENV{ID_VENDOR_ID}=="1a86", ENV{ID_MODEL_ID}=="7523", GROUP="plugdev", MODE="0666"adjust to suit your device id and preferred group. After that run the Software/src/bin/Prismatik binary and you should be able to do it's configuration. Again select Adalight and adjust LED count to your custom length.Screen capture is limited to a single display, but you can pick which one. Not sure if you can run multiple sets. There are also color changing and static modes. Pretty much just works after setup.Physically the hardware feels cheap. Power supply claims 5v@8A. These lights were on and off for about two weeks until today. I opened the Ambibox program and noticed that only the first 13 leds were working. I've tinkered with the settings and I can't seem to get the rest of the leds to light up. If I could get some assistance that would be greatly appreciated, but so far I'm disappointed with the limited use I've had.EDIT 7/25/2019: The company reached out to me and diagnosed my current kit with a defect. They were very persistent in trying to find an error within my program or the lights themselves. The problem was easily resolved with a replacement that came within days of my complaint. Just set it up and everything works so far.
