Long review: I previously used a large Slimline dish on a surveyor's tripod because I absolutely had to have *HIGH DEFINITION* DirecTV when camping. I got good at setting up and pointing the big dish, but it was still an inconvenience to set up and take down the dish. Plus it took up a lot of storage room. The automated rooftop Slimline HD dish is about $1500 which was a cool gadget but something I couldn't justify for that much money. So I did an experiment and started watching SD channels. Well, it became apparent that the SD picture was just fine for camping. I didn't need the HD. So I got this dish and installed it myself. It took about a day to install, most of it spent determining where best to mount it and were I would drill and route the cabling, before I actually started. Well, I couldn't be happier with my decision. I can lock onto the satellite in under a minute. The elevation sensor is key to making this happen. And boom - all of the DirecTV channels are available - no HD, but that's ok. It's camping. When it's time to leave, crank it down. Cuts about 15 minutes off of my campsite breakdown compared to the tripod big dish. I highly recommend this product. Get this one with the elevation sensor and not the slightly cheaper one without. The elevation sensor makes the difference so you don't have to guess. Review: New product but had a defective part. - Bought this dish since I had a similar one on an older motor home. Very easy to line up. However, first slight gust of wind and the dish blew over on it back. Winegard support told me the tusset had to be bad. They are in the process of sending me a new one but would not pay for me to have the new tusset installed. Anxiously waiting for the new replacement part. Sad to say but a brand new unit needs a replacement part to work. It is a crank up and manual adjusting antenna?** A: This is a manual adjusting crank up Satellite Dish. It would not replace a TV antenna. You would have to have DirecTV or Dish Network services and a receiver. **Q: Is the magic sensor a separate installation or does it automatically work when the cables are hooked up?** A: The digital magic sensor just needs to be plugged in once the dish and wiring are installed. I find it reads about 5 degrees over where the satellites are but it is consistent so easily compensated for. I installed about 2 weeks ago and have not spent more than 2 minutes finding the satellites since. I've set up in 5 different locations in Atlantic Canada. Overall instructions arenot great for install, but it really wasn't hard. Took me 3 hours start to finish with no previous experience. **Q: My RV came prewired for a roof-mount sat dish and has a single coaxial connection point on the roof. Is the RM-DM46 a single coax cable dish?** A: I don't know about that, Lou. I ran mine through the hole with the coax. I think that it would probably interfere with the mounting plates for the dish but didn't try so don't take that as the gospel. **Q: IS THIS DISH MADE FOR DISH NETWORK** A: The Wineguard rm-dm46 works with dish network and direct tv.
