A few of us tried and felt like the plastic would snap in two. Is there a trick to it?** A: I see what you mean about how tight the cover is. I just used a narrow flat blade screwdriver to pop up the bottom end (in the notch). That started the removal, but then I had to run my thumbnail down both sides in the crack started at the notch end, and it popped right off. **Q: Do you need Internet?** A: Internet is not needed. Just plug the piece that plays music into a wall socket. There's a button there and you can choose which sound/music you like best. There's also several volume options and mute if you need to turn the sound off. The doorbell can be hung outside with the sticky piece that's included or with screws. I love it and so do my grandkids! They like changing the music. **Q: how do you mute it?** A: The person who answered "there is no mute. You'll have to "take it out of the ac outlet" to mute it, is WRONG! THERE IS A MUTE OPTION! In the description it says this: The door bell HAS A MUTE MODE to choose from. Thanks to the LED it will still flash when working in mute mode. How do I fixed this?** A: You have it on mute. While on mute you won't hear it but you will see the flashing light. I often take client meetings in a private office outside. I wear noise-cancelling headphones for many calls and sometimes can't hear knocks at my door. Pros: The item is very inexpensive considering what it does. The item came right away, too. I unboxed it and the instructions are extremely easy. You pull a tab from the doorbell thingie and plug in the receiver. I tested it and it worked right away. It lights up cool colors and has a nice chime. Becuase i'm on the phone, I turned the volume off but it works flawlessly. Cons: Not really any to speak of. It's smaller than I expected, but that actually works out perfect because my desk only has so much space for these things. I put mine into an outlet I have on my desk. I highly recommend. I understand the battery life is super long which is helpful as well.
