I've had several cheap chippers and they just don't do the job, they bend/break and are awful to clean. This is solid, the blades are sharp and it chips potato's with speed, and onions dicing is a doddle. It's easy to clean - just a quick rinse under a tap without any annoying crevices for food to get stuck in. Only downside is that the handle extension hasn't got a "natural" place to be stowed with the chipper when not in use.
