It is a good caulk and adhesive both so you can stick shingles down with it and fill the nail holes from the ones you just took off to cut in that roof jack or whatever. If you simply tape over the open end of the nozzle, the material does not dry out and will cleanly restart for months. It is expensive for caulk at >$10/11 oz tube most places but if you are lazy and don't want leaks, it's worth it. Tip: if you spit on the tip of a gloved finger, you can smooth it nicely too. I've tried a lot of roof repair and sealants in the past and this stuff in the caulk gun size is the best I've ever used. Used it to, seal some step flashing were it meets the siding, fascia, seal up a shinle that was pulling up and a trim piece that was leaking water being my siding and into my interior ceiling.etc. Solid, easy to go on and seals amazing.
