I washed and dried mine, covered them with a light coat of lard and put them on the grill to heat up hot. They leave lovely sear marks on food and I've not had any food stick to them as I seasoned them. Clean up is quick and easy with a stiff brush. I would definitely recommend these if you want to up your BBQ game.

**Q: The xl smoker comes with a rack...where does this go?**
A: Hello, The Cast Iron Cooking Grate is designed to be used as an alternate griddle to the one which comes with the BBQ depending on preference of the user. Cast Iron allows greater heat retention and temperature management for an increased cooking experience. Best, Andrew.

**Q: Are these grates porcelain enamelled?**
A: No they are exposed cast iron I prefer this to the enamelled as you get a better sear at high temps

**Q: Can these go in the dishwasher?**
A: We do not recommend placing these in the dishwasher, please wipe clean only with a little fairy liquid if needed and use a soft brush for any hard spots only. Thank you.

These make an excellent upgrade for the Cosmogrill. They are solid and well made and arrived well packaged. They leave lovely sear marks on food and I've not had any food stick to them as I seasoned them. Clean up is quick and easy with a stiff brush. I would definitely recommend these if you want to up your BBQ game.
