Arlington TVBU810-1 TV Box with Flange for Home Theater Installations, 8 x 10, White, 1-Pack. Intended for Home Theater Installations in new or retrofit work. Accepts standard-style plates with receptacles and decorator style devices with plates. Supplied with cover blanks, wall plate, cable entry device and cable connectors for unused openings. 1-1/2-inch knockout for ENT or other low-voltage wiring. UL and CSA Listed for a complete and professional installation - Made in USA. Ideal for home theater systems where multiple connections are required for sound systems, satellite TV, cable TVs, DVRs and more. This box may also be installed vertically or horizontally depending upon your requirements.

Review: Awesome Recessed Media Box - This is an awesome product for those looking for a recessed media box. I ordered several different models, including $100+ metal versions from Crutchfield and B&H, yet this version met all my requirements. I wanted at least two openings capable of holding surge protected power outlets (duplex gang) for my TV, Soundbar, and fire stick. This worked the best, and was super easy for my electrician to install. I can’t emphasize enough though the importance of using surge suppressor outlets to protect your electronics. They cost approximately $15 off desertcart for the Leviton models, and really make for a great recessed media box.
Review: Very well made and thought out product - This is the second one of these I have installed and like their product. The way they do the install in an existing situation is well thought out finishes nicely. The box gives you lots of room for your connections and allows the tv to get as close to the wall as your bracket allows. NOTE: If your bracket ends up "crossing over" this box (poor planning on my part) be aware that the trim, which is needed to help secure the box, is not flush against the wall. The trim sticks out maybe 1/4 of an inch and if your bracket has a wide bar that normally is flush against the wall you will have a problem. I solved it by simply putting four 1 1/2" fender washers between the wall and the bracket and ran the lad screws through them to bring the bracket1/4" or so from the wall. Cost me $6 on desertcart and probably could have been avoided if I had done a little better planning.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: what are the interior dimensions of the box?**
A: 8.5" by 10" usable interior ... you could remove the diagonal section if needed ....

**Q: Can it be mounted without using the flange?  The enclosure must not protrude beyond the Sheetrock.**
A: It can be mounted that way, but it’s meant to be mounted that way to finish the edge, like putting a wall plate on one of those blue plastic outlet boxes.  If you go without the flange, you’re going to want to put something in there to finish it like maybe wood trim or tile, unless it’s going to be sealed off some other way.  If you’re doing new construction rather than retrofitting, you might want a different box, as this one is meant to be used in a retrofit.

**Q: do all four sides have a spec for a plate? will this box accept two outlets?**
A: It accepts 2 outlets

**Q: Is this box shallow enough for 2x3 framing with half inch drywall?**
A: Sorry, No this box "Arlington TVBU810-1" will not fit in a framed wall of 2x3.  However, you can install the box in the 2x3 wall and build, (make) a frame/boarder of 1x3 around the box to fill I n the gap.  This will also give a 3D effect to the box-unit, as it has a little boarder-frame around itself.  The Arlington TVBU810-1 is a nice and attractive unit to give that professional touch.
I installed ours in a very large bathroom, up high.  Besides, the additional outlet, this also gave us a space to put a Bluetooth Speaker.  Also, covered the opening with a thin layer of window A/C filter material.  Looks Great, keeps everything organized, while out in the open, hidden behind the filter material is a speaker and other items.
