**Q: Can I use this indoors?**
A: Only if you have the Fire Dept. or Forestry Dept. on standby to get the smoke out of your dwelling.
My question is--Why would you want to use it indoors?  Do you "normally" grill or smoke food indoors?

**Q: What is the size of the grilling grates? I need to know the dimensions of the large and small grate.**
A: Main Rack: 34" L x 19" D

Main Grate Grilling Capacity: 646 sq. in. 

2nd Rack: 34" L x 7" D

2nd Rack Grilling Capacity: 238 sq. in.

**Q: Can it be used without the wood pellets?**
A: They don't need to be Traeger pellets but, yes, you need the pellets. They work like wood in a fireplace -- they create the heat by moving down an auger that transports the pellets from a firebox to a heating coil. The speed of the auger determines the temperature. The faster it moves the faster the pellets get to the fire and the higher the temperature is. I love this smoker -- not just for slow smoking, but for the best barbecued chicken I've ever made.

**Q: how many amps does it pull?**
A: 4 amps at the beginning and then drops to 1.5 amps for the rest of the cook.
