They do however help with breaking up and wiping away the dried on crustiness from everyday watery eyes. I have a chihuahua/pekinese mix who is genetically prone to eye problems. He gets allergies and watery eye drainage and these help keep from crust building up. I will fold up one of these circle pads to where I can give the little inside of his eye crease a light scrub and the solution helps break up everything. I will then dry the area with a dry cotton round and put in his medicated drops after.
