Although I haven't tested every model from Smartwool, Icebreaker, etc, this pair of Woolly surpasses all the big name wool boxers I've ever worn for softness. Even the waistband is soft lined. I also like the innovative vertical fly, something I've never encountered before in any men's underwear of any kind. I liked these so much I had to go back & order additional pairs. I haven't yet put them to the test for all day sweating (hiking, backpacking, wildland firefighting, etc) & I might keep my Icebreaker & Smartwool brand merino wool undies devoted to those activities to keep my Woollys soft as long as possible.
