This is a wonderful book. There are only a handful of books I have read that I wished would never end. This was certainly one of them. Sr. Maria Antonia, a Franciscan nun, lived from 1900-1939. Her prioress instructed her to write down her story (much as St. Therese was told her write her story). Sr. Maria Antonio wrote this small book while in her sick bed, she never got to finish it. Much to our loss, it concludes when she is 20. She relates tales of her life wherein she felt the physical presence of her guardian angel who would lay his hand on her shoulder to stop her from doing wrong and would shield her eyes with his wings to prevent her from seeing sinful acts around her and when she got older, talk to her through locutions. Her reminiscences are from ages 4-20 and they are so interesting. Many times I put the book down and thought about what tempted her and how her angel prevented her from sinning to keep her pure and how in our world so many of these things would not be considered very bad at all. In our 'culture of death' as it has been called, sin abounds to such a degree we are desensitized to it. Reading this book put me back in touch with the purity God desires for us and from us in our words, thoughts, and deeds. It is written simply, as an innocent child would write, but it is profound and will touch your soul and hopefully inspire meticulous examination of your own words, thoughts and deeds. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Beautiful and inspiring story *by A***9 on Reviewed in the United States on February 21, 2021* This is an incredible book... I love it so much... I just wish I could have kept it.When I opened the book to read, pages and dried glue started falling out... all through to the middle and most of the end. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ A wonderful book *by A***N on Reviewed in the United States on July 2, 2019* [Tiny spoiler alert at the end.] The tone and writing of this book is so wonderfully innocent and I loved the author's experiences when she was young with her guardian angel (and with her spiritual adviser, and with Jesus and Mary!), and I smiled at the asterisks from the editor that said things to the effect that we are not allowed to baptize or confirm people unless it is in an emergency. It made me so happy to think of that child going up to an old man and teaching him about Jesus and baptizing him. SO beautiful in her devotion and innocence. And the part about the angel spreading his wings to keep her from seeing things she shouldn't!? ADORABLE! I love this book.
