My daughter is 6 and she loves these books. She can polish one off in about two hours. She has read just about every one in the series. It's a sweet series and holds her attention. I wish more books were innocent fun reads like this for kids. I hate the Juney B. Jones stuff with bratty kids who are mean and mouthy. The world will teach them those things faster than it should -- we don't need to shove it down their throats. So I appreciate books likes these that let little girls be little for a while longer.

These are quick reads!  Almost too quick.  But they're worth it to have a group of racially diverse girls tackling fun challenges that are age appropriate.  We love Ellie (although why she has to be the performer, redeploying limiting stereotypes of Black girls is beyond me).
