Review: Perfect if you are petite - I actually have a ball/base already, I purchased this one because of the back support. I wasn't sure if my back would actually lean against the back support or not? but it surprisingly gladly does. It really has good lumbar support and it's very comfortable to sit on. The ball in this base is smaller than my older one and I like it much better it sits lower and is perfect for my sewing machine table, although my preference is even lower at my sewing table, but this works pretty darn well. I wish they would have these with a hydraulic lift lol I have vinyl flooring and I thought the locks would not work and SLIDE AROUND, but they actually do give the wheels a little more grip when engaged.. On a slippery floor overall it's much more comfortable than my backless ball chair. I really love the color and it seems pretty sturdy. You don't have to fill the ball up too much like I said it's a lot smaller than my original chair that I purchased a few years back, I used an electric air pump, not the one that came with the chair.
Review: Work your core while working at your desk! - First be sure to put the back on correctly...it seems to LOOK like it should go the other way but then there is no back support if screwed on in reverse...like I did at first (oops!) So look at the photo as you put it on. I had read about these years ago and how they'd been shown to work your core--people were using just the balls without the chairs to do core work and balance work while at the desk, but the problem with that was the balls roll when you get up and are inconvenient. So I was reading several articles back when I was a diet coach and very into fitness at that time...and I really wanted once of these as they all raved about it in tests. Back then they were about 4 times the price they are now and so I passed because I was working in someone else's office then and had no desire to leave my nice chair there where things sometimes vanished at night anyway. So I am in the process of having a new office built (an expansion actually of an old one) and so it's time to also pick out some new furniture that works better for me. Why not feel better when I am working and have to sit? To be honest, I first chose the chair because I had an issue with my tailbone after a cycling accident and I wanted more cushion or "give" without an ugly coccyx donut that move around. This actually is SO comfortable--but it does work your core too. I mean, let's face it, it will not replace pushups but when I am doing lots of different things at my desk and moving my arms around (twists) I am forcing my core to maintain balance rather than my bum as I would on a regular chair. Plus the color is hip and fun too since I painting the office a very pale yellow on board-paneled walls and very pale green shelving. Fun and happy room for fun and happy work! Plus I am self-employed now so it's my office---unfortunately I clean it myself now, but I also can leave cool things in it too like my hip chair.

**Q: My lumbar discs are shot. Has using this helped deal with this chronic condition?**
A: I'm an therapist and ergonomic specialist, I just happened to be looking at this item and figured I'd throw in my 2 cents. I would recommend finding a chair with good back support and allow yourself to recline to a position where your trunk is approx.110-120 degrees with the floor. This position basically places some of the weight of your trunk onto the back of the chair rather than your lumbar spine and reduces the compressive forces that would normally bear down on your spine. Without knowing your specific medical situation you kind of have to take the advise with a grain of salt but I'd recommend something with dynamic and adjustable back support, I don't think this product would be great for your (or most people's) situation.

**Q: How tall is it from the ground to the top of the ball ? Thank you.**
A: Because the chair is at work I am not sure of exact height, but I am 5' tall and it is the first chair I have ever had that my feet touch the ground. My daughter has one and she is 5'10". both of us agree that it is the most comfortable chair we have ever had at work. The secret is try different amounts of air....most times less is better.

**Q: I am 4'11" tall, just under the min height for this chair. will it still work for me? the child size only goes to 51" lol.**
A: I am 4’ 11 3/8”, and I think the ball is too small. Just a quick video to show how short the chair is compared to me. Or maybe my desk is just tall. It’s definitely awkward, and I am thinking about sizing up on the ball or getting the leg extenders.

**Q: Does the back rest have a purpose aside from looks?**
A: This is really supposed to be a stretchIng chair so yes, you use it as a crop to hold on to. I have also leaned against the back rest. But I feel the purpose of this chair helps you sit up straight (so you don't want to slouch or lean back). Also it helps take the pressure of my hips and back. I have degenerative disc disease and this chair really seems to help me get through the day at my desk job.

I actually have a ball/base already, I purchased this one because of the back support. I wasn't sure if my back would actually lean against the back support or not? but it surprisingly gladly does. It really has good lumbar support and it's very comfortable to sit on. The ball in this base is smaller than my older one and I like it much better it sits lower and is perfect for my sewing machine table, although my preference is even lower at my sewing table, but this works pretty darn well.
