Review: Cost-Effective and Reliable Addition for Unraid Servers - Pros: - Cost-effective option for expanding storage in Unraid servers - Reliable performance and passing preclear tests - High storage capacity of 4TB - Suitable for server-grade applications with 7200 RPM and 64MB cache Cons: - Refurbished condition may carry some inherent risks - Potential variation in individual drive performance and longevity Summary: The 4TB refurbished HDD offers a cost-effective and reliable option for expanding storage in Unraid servers. Despite being refurbished, these drives have passed preclear tests with flying colors, demonstrating their reliability. With a high storage capacity of 4TB, they provide ample space for server-grade applications. However, the refurbished condition may carry some inherent risks, and individual drive performance and longevity may vary. One of the standout advantages of the 4TB refurbished HDD is its cost-effectiveness for expanding storage in Unraid servers. These refurbished drives provide a budget-friendly option without compromising on performance. The drives have demonstrated reliable performance by passing preclear tests on Unraid servers. This indicates their ability to withstand continuous operation and provides assurance of their functionality. With a storage capacity of 4TB, the HDD offers a significant amount of space for storing data in Unraid servers. This capacity is suitable for server-grade applications, allowing users to manage large amounts of data efficiently. However, it's important to note that refurbished drives carry some inherent risks. While they have passed preclear tests, there is a possibility of individual drives encountering issues or having a shorter lifespan compared to brand-new drives. Users should consider potential risks associated with refurbished drives and make an informed decision based on their specific requirements and tolerance for such risks. Additionally, individual drive performance and longevity may vary even within the same model and batch. While the drives have demonstrated reliable performance as a whole, there may be variations in performance and longevity between individual drives. It's important to keep this in mind and consider backup and redundancy strategies to mitigate any potential risks. In summary, the 4TB refurbished HDD provides a cost-effective and reliable option for expanding storage in Unraid servers. Despite being refurbished, these drives have passed preclear tests and offer a high storage capacity suitable for server-grade applications. However, users should be aware of the inherent risks associated with refurbished drives and consider backup strategies to ensure data integrity. TL;DR: The 4TB refurbished HDD is a cost-effective and reliable option for expanding storage in Unraid servers. Despite being refurbished, these drives have passed preclear tests and offer a high storage capacity suitable for server-grade applications. However, users should be aware of potential risks associated with refurbished drives and consider backup strategies for data integrity. Review: Very nice High Capacity Storage Drive - I wonder if, when cars appeared on the market, if horses became inexpensive? As a new technology like solid state storage becomes more mainstream, really good mechanical drives become dirt cheap. I can't believe I could by a 4TB drive for well under $60. But here it is, a name-brand 4TB drive that works great and has lots of storage. My first Winchester disk drive was $1100 and had 30MB ($36/MB). This is 4TB for $55 (or $0.000014/MB). If you need storage, it would be difficult to find a better deal. This unit arrived exactly as advertised and installed easily. I had to partition the drive and format it, but after that, I am rocking some major backup storage. This is so nice, I will buy 3 more drives and put them into a RAID configuration so that I have backups for all my drives. At this price, it seems foolish not to. Note that this is an OEM drive, so that is all you get. No manuals, no cables. But the packaging seems solid so there was no damage during shipping. The 7200 RPM isn't going to set any data transfer records compared to solid state, but hey considering that they are about 7X more expensive per MB than this drive, who cares how fast it is? Especially if you use them as file storage or backup like I am. Some I purchased recently to expand VM drive space and backup storage, others I have had for several years. They seem to keep trucking along and doing what they were built to do. I have been very happy with Western Digital Drives and over all the years I have used them I have only ever had one drive die on me and Western Digitial replaced it as the warranty promised it would. If you need some affordable and dependable storage, these drives will get the job done. --- ## Why Shop on Desertcart? - πŸ›’ **Trusted by 1.3+ Million Shoppers** β€” Serving international shoppers since 2016 - 🌍 **Shop Globally** β€” Access 737+ million products across 21 categories - πŸ’° **No Hidden Fees** β€” All customs, duties, and taxes included in the price - πŸ”„ **15-Day Free Returns** β€” Hassle-free returns (30 days for PRO members) - πŸ”’ **Secure Payments** β€” Trusted payment options with buyer protection - ⭐ **TrustPilot Rated 4.5/5** β€” Based on 8,000+ happy customer reviews **Shop now:** [https://www.desertcart.hr/products/119778885-re-wd4000fyyz-4tb-7200-rpm-64mb-cache-sata-6-0gb](https://www.desertcart.hr/products/119778885-re-wd4000fyyz-4tb-7200-rpm-64mb-cache-sata-6-0gb) --- *Product available on Desertcart Croatia* *Store origin: HR* *Last updated: 2026-10-03*
