I've been using Espoma's Organic Potting Mix for my houseplants with very satisfactory results. My main observation -- other than that it's not amended with fertilizers -- is that it's somewhat lighter and more porous than typical soil. As such, I strongly recommend soaking it moderately before use to aid in judging appropriate volume.
