The cut and shape is absolutey perfect. I went with the rubber and it increases grip confidence significantly. I actually had fun installing it. Just take your time, it's very forgiving and lets you pull it up and reposition as you need. And once you get it perfect, just apply some heat from a heat gun or hair dryer and mash it down, smoothing it out. I did the heat step probably 4 or 5 times. The grip doesn't add any thickness, it goes on very flat. I highly reccommend this grip! It is everything that the manufacturer promises. What they don't tell you is that if you are using your 43x as a conceal carry and you are carrying it under an untucked shirt, those awesome grips grab your t-shirt and you are "printing" badly. I got so tired of pulling my shirt off of the grips that I took them off immediately. **Q: Is this real or fake** A: What I received was real, and I really like it.
