Assuming there would be some room for growth, I was excited to get him a good, quality collar. When I received this collar I expanded the collar as far as it would go and it barely fit my dog’s neck. I had to order an XL for him and my female got a matching collar. The collar I really like it's strong and durable. I've read reviews complaining about the plastic buckle and dog tag rivet. No issues with the rivet if your tag doesn't fit get a bigger ring, and with the buckle be thankful it's not made with the metal they use on the leash.
