The wire connection side has a much better chance of first time success. A couple of connections required multiple attempts to make the connection. Make sure to use a multi-meter to check the connection after each connection made. I found that the contact did not really slice through the insulation of the included wire after the clip was clicked in. I had to open the click again and use a small screw driver to press the wire in before closing the clip.The strip light side contact has similar issue. If the contact pins come from the top, it would make the connection much better. With this design, the contact pins come from the bottom. Even the pin pierced through the contacts from the bottom, there is a good chance they do not make contact with the solder pads. I found that if I tin a thin layer of solder on the solder pads before putting the connector on, the contact pins can bite into the solder, making the connection more consistent. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars It works out of the package *by M***. on Reviewed in the United States on April 3, 2023* Worked as described. A bit of an issue making the actual connection but be patient and it will work. ### ⭐⭐ 2.0 out of 5 stars mixed results, got it to work in the end, but a major pain *by I***S on Reviewed in the United States on September 26, 2019* I bought both the 10 pack 4-pin 10mm LED connector and the 10 pack 2-pin LED connector for 8mm (non-waterproof) light strip, and I got extremely mixed results.TL:DR: the "10 pack 4-pin 10mm LED connector" by itself is 5 stars (bit of hassle to get the hang of it, but it works!); the "10 pack 2-pin LED connectors for 8mm (non-waterproof) strip" by itself is 0 out of 5, yes, ZERO star product, piece of crap.Now, the "bear with me" part...I was in the process of kitchen remodeling. One of the features I'd like to add was undercounter lights, and I happened to have a spare set of LED strip laying around, so I wanted to install it. For aesthetics and ease of use (avoiding certain large appliances and the washing sink in the middle of cabinets), I needed the LED strip to be cut into multiple sections while maintaining the same one power supply source to save electrical outlets for other kitchen use. Some googling later, it occurred to me, I needed "extensions" or "connectors" to bridge my cut LED light strips, and Google led me to this product page.My spare set of LED light strip to begin with was 4-pin RGB waterproof type, so I purchased the connectors accordingly. Once arrived promptly, it took me some getting used to, but overall, it works: as shown in my first 2 pictures.However, I had a change of heart...Because my RGB light strip doesn't produce pure white (more blue-tinted white than pure white), it bothered me to no end, so I decided to forgo the working LED light strip I already successfully installed, and went for mono-color "pure bright day light" white LED light strip. All the ones I could find on Amazon are 2-pin connectors, so I ordered a second set of "10 pack 2-pin LED connector for 8mm non-waterproof light strip", thinking the product will be just as good and even easier to install for the 2nd go-around. WRONG!for these connectors to work, one end that connects the light strip needs to have the metal teeth cut into the contact pieces (2-pin or 4-pin) on the LED strip, the other end on the connector needs to cut through the plastics around the electrical wires (2-wire or 4-wire) to make contact with the metal core to transmit electricity (but NOT strip the plastic ends completely like a wire cutter, otherwise the teeth will have nothing to bite down to to secure the wires to the connectors). As demonstrated in my 3rd picture, the "2-pin connector" product fails to cut through the (black-red) wire plastics, it barely squeezes the wires. Either the clamp mechanism is not designed well to cut these black-red wires, or the black-red wire is of crap quality that the plastics are too stiff for the teeth to cut through (or answer C: both). the 2-pin connectors aren't able to cut through the 2-wire cable, hence electrical connection cannot be re-established. all told, I've only tested 2 connectors out of the box of 10, I didn't bother to test the rest of them, 20% failure rate is high enough for me.But I wasn't just gonna sit on my a*s and staring at this mess of crumbled wires and LED light strip and complain til my hearts content (well, I am now, but in aftermath). I had to fix this, a mess I've paid money for, twice. I had to get it to work.In the end, after tedious trail and error, I got it to work: I ditched the crap black-red wire from the 2-pin pack. I stripped 2 wires from the 4-wire RGB cable that came with the 4-pin pack, used the 4-pin connector to make good contact bite marks on these 2 wires, then installed these 2 wires with good bite marks into the appropriate end on the 2-pin connector. The other end of the 2-pin connectors bite into my 2-pin LED light strips (because the 4-pin connector cannot bite into and securely hold onto thin non-waterproof LED strip, without the layer of clear silicone, the 2-pin connector is designed for these paper-thin LED strips). And as the French would say: Voila! It worked.But you see, how tedious this process was, so please forgive me for not having any more patience to grab my cellphone, take a shot of the working end result, run back to my computer to upload these pictures and share them here. Just take my word or leave it.If your application is 4-pin LED light strip, the appropriate connectors should serve your needs well.
