The extendable sticks are in fact straight so they would work for either handedness. **Q: Would this be ok for a 12 year old? or too small? just for indoors** A: Yes Just indoors. It would be knee hockey for a 12 year old, but they may find it too small. I am 6 foot and use it to play with my daughters 4 and 2 as well as my nephews when they come over who are 10 and 9 and i think it is perfect.
