It is small and unobtrusive allowing for a natural flow of an interview. The basic record function is easy to use, however I lost a whole interview 's worth of data as in one instance it did not save the file. I thought I had pressed the record button again to save the file (Record button starts a new file, records and saves) and the recorder was still going, so I turned the recorder off only to find that I had lost a file that For me there could be a few more function buttons for SAVE, DELETE, SWITCH TO MP3. I think the manufacturer is trying to cram in too many functions in a small device. It works a bit like setting up a digital watch. The instructions are too simplistic and really need some step-by-step how to set the recorder up properly. I am still trying to work out how to set the time, date.
