The gun has a different tip ( it is tapered with no threads) than I am used to, but it works great. I have not yet purchased consumables, so I am not sure if they are more expensive than the threaded tips. It plugged in to my Miller Autoset 211 with no issues. Welding with the new gun is like having a new welder at a super low cost! The only downside is that the new "Velocity" consumables are not readily available.
