After reading through a few of the reviews for some of those various books, it seemed as if that art was the accepted norm on the INSIDE of those books as well. I know most children won't care what Caillou looks like, but personally speaking, I just preferred a TV-accurate depiction of Caillou.Well I can happily report to other OCD Caillou supporters that this book has art that is as close as it gets to the TV show. You never see his parents in the book (other than an arm extended from off panel), but everything else from the show is well represented. Gilbert looks like Gilbert. Ditto for Caillou. And of course, the funky and vivid colors the cartoon is well known for jumps out on every page.Other pros are that there are 9 different touch and feel patches throughout the book (including the cover). Also, I love how the pages are not as thick as typical board books. They are closer to the paperback end of the spectrum but still extremely durable and able to withstand tears, rips, and abuse. Finally, I liked the "Follow The Mouse" feature which is a little mouse hidden every 2 pages. Toddlers will have fun trying to find the mouse the first few reads. It's not a major thing but just something that adds to the value a bit.There are no cons to me, but if I were forced to pick something "negative", I would say that the story seems just a teeny bit disjointed. But of course, that is what happens when you only have 13 pages to work with. Also, the dog at the pet store is drawn with ears that look almost like they belong on a cat. But really, that's super nitpicking.Great purchase. I'm very surprised there aren't more TnF Caillou books available though. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ My 2yo son really enjoys the book.
