Just a "ding" when the toast pops up. You should probably return the toaster if it is bothering your dog, **Q: where is the bread tray for cleaning, Bottom?** A: Difficult even impossible to clean. There is a tray but the toaster is designed so that crumbs are at a place they can not be cleaned. Otherwise this is a very nice toaster if it were not for this design flaw. I esp like the button you can push for the bread to pop up. **Q: It is hard to tell from the picture but would the red color of this toaster lean toward a cranberry red or is it more of a tomato red?
