I don't like velcro.** A: Yes, there are hook and loop closures on the cargo and back pockets. **Q: Do these have a gusseted crotch?** A: This style does not have a gusseted crotch. **Q: Some reviews mention that these pants run small in the waist and to size up. Is this true?** A: People's bodies are different. My mate buys 36, his usual size--and really likes these pants. He does have kind of a flat butt, which may influence the waist fit. **Q: How much or many sizes are these pants going to shrink after being washed? Most luxury Brands just tightened up a little or half size.** A: After a few wash cycles mine did shrink a bit. I noticed the shrinkage because the rugged flex pants are sized in smaller increments (waist size), than some other pants. In my case I purposely bought them for the fit and now they are a bit tighter in the waist, I will move up a size in the waist next time. Overall a very comfortable pant for travel, yard work, casual wear, etc. It stretches nicely when squatting or sitting. The pockets all work well and are adequately roomy without being floppy or bulky. The fabric is a bit thicker than Lee/Wrangler/Levi denim jeans, but it's still soft and flexible.The velcro-like closures don't hold as strongly as standard hook&loop, since both sides are like hook. Press the closures strongly to ensure a good hold. I'm guessing this design is meant to hold up better over time rather than the soft loop side getting all strung out after frequent use.I normally wear a 33x36 if I can find it. That size wasn't available so I tried the 32x36 and 34x36. The stretch wasn't enough to make the 32 comfortable, but the 34 fit perfectly, so I'd say if in doubt go up an inch.
