Review: Inexpensive, chemical-free, and effective! - We had our first ever lice outbreak after an overnight with a friend. I ran out and bought some other brand of expensive lice killing product only to realize that it was basically hair conditioner that had nothing in it to actually kill the lice. And it had some pesticide spray which isn't really necessary if you properly wash and vacuum everything. I then went on a hunt for a product that would work. Licefreee caught my eye because it is inexpensive and chemical free and it had great reviews. If it didn't work, I wasn't out a whole lot of money. To my surprise, it did work! It smells like licorice, which I'm not a big fan of, but its not the worst smell in the world and it doesn't smell like chemicals so I can definitely handle it. After using it, I found dead bugs so it really does work. And it's so easy to use. The bottle says you don't have to pick the nits out, but I highly recommend that you do because it helps you to know if you are free and clear of lice and if there has been a reinfestation. If you don't pick the nits, then it's impossible to tell if the lice are really gone. It's like water, very thin and it runs, so spray it and then rub it in the hair to saturate the whole head of hair. I recommend draping a towel around the shoulders to catch drips. Here's the process I used: Week 1: I sprayed it all over everyone's hair first thing in the morning and then everyone went about their day while I washed and dried bedding, clothes, and pillows and vacuumed mattresses, carpet and rugs, furniture, and car upholstery. All stuffed animals went into trash bags and were put in our storage building. I left Licefreee on everyone's hair and allowed it to dry all day. At bedtime, it got washed out in the bath. For the kids, I washed their hair as normal and then used a heavy amount of hair conditioner. The conditioner makes it so much easier to use the lice comb without pulling their hair. Apply the contioner, then use a regular comb to comb the contioner through the hair. Then use the lice comb on the hair. After each swipe through the hair, rinse the comb in a cup to make sure it is clean and clear of all nits and bugs. I use the conditioner and comb every day for a week. I also pick nits by hand because some are so close to the scalp that the comb doesn't grab them. Week 2: One week after the first application, I retreated with another round of Licefreee then continue conditioning and combing hair for another week. After the second treatment, I also redo the whole house, washing and drying bedding, vacuum everything again, etc. Stuffed animals are not brought back into the house until 3-4 weeks later or a couple weeks after I'm sure the lice are gone. Week 3: After another week, I retreated a third time. After the third treatment, I just check heads for any signs of lice. I continue to check and use a lice comb until we are 3 weeks without seeing any sign of lice. If any signs of lice are found, I would retreat again weekly, but I didn't see any signs after the second treatment. It's a long process, but it is worth it to make sure that the lice are gone! For moms, if you don't have anyone to go through your hair and pick nits, just treat yourself each time you treat the kids and do your hair in the bath or shower just like you do the kids. Condition your hair and use a wide tooth comb to comb the conditioner through your hair and then use a lice comb to remove as many nits and bugs as possible. Use the conditioner and comb daily, just like you do with the kids. Make sure to retreat yourself each week when you retreat the kids. This will catch any bugs that hatch between treatments. Treat yourself, everyone in the house, the house itself, and vehicles 3 times! And make sure to clean out the vacuum cleaner after each use! No product is effective if you don't retreat. No product is effective if you don't treat and retreat the whole house and vehicles. No product is effective if you don't treat everyone in the house. Save your time and money and do it right!
Review: Effective lice treatment and prevention, easy to use and gentle for kids. - I bought this product and sent it to Cuba for my niece because she was suffering from lice at school, and it was very stressful for her and my family. After using this product, she hasn’t gotten lice again, and we are so relieved and happy. My family told me it was easy to use and gentle on her hair, and it helped eliminate the problem and prevent it from coming back. For a child, that is very important, especially when lice spread so easily at school. Even though I couldn’t take a picture because I sent it overseas, I wanted to leave this review because it truly helped my niece. This product gave us peace of mind and saved us from a very difficult situation. I would definitely buy it again and highly recommend it to parents who are dealing with lice problems at school.

## Questions & Answers

**Q: How often can use this? Is it okay to use it daily? Every other day? Weekly? Just wondering because it doesn't have the frequency on the bottle.**
A: It is just salt and some scented stuff. It does not smell badly, in my opinion, smells okay. But this stuff does not work. It is salt, it does ruin your hair overtime if you use it as long and as frequently as I have. I have tried tons of bottles of this stuff, and still had lice. I did all the nightly changing of pillows and sheets, and towels, etc. i finally quit using this stuff after months of no improvement. Yes, months! I ended up using Isopropyl alchohol (plain old rubbing alchohol at the drugstore for two dollars) which does work, and this coolness of the rubbing alchohol feels soothing to irritated bite marks on your scalp. Also use a fine plastic nit comb every single day. Every day. Oddly the rubbing alchohol does not dry out my hair as badly as this salt stuff did.

**Q: Does this kill the eggs too, or do you still have to comb them out ?**
A: The product claims to kill the eggs, and in my experience it did! I used the spray yesterday morning. I combed out a small fraction of the lice and eggs but definitely not all. I have not seen a live lice since (it's been 36 hours). If the spray did not kill the eggs, I would be seeing live lice by this point. I'm REALLY impressed with this product.

**Q: I contracted lice in august, finally got rid of them in october. they came back in december. i'm 18 with mid back length thick hair. will this work?**
A: this stuff helps but for that much hair as you have? you will need many bottles to saturates your hair. this stuff helps but it doesn't work as well as plain old isopropyl alcohol for $2 at the drug store. this here spray is salt water and it really dries your hair out, even more than the isopropyl did. Take great care to tip face way up or lay down on towel, so you do not get any isopropyl alcohol in your eyes.

**Q: Does the metal comb that comes with this work pretty well?**
A: I don't believe that any of the comms work fantastic when you're going through that situation however with that being said the spray itself is pretty fantastic you can leave it in and you don't have to actually use the comb to get the nets out unless you choose to my daughter has very very thick hair so no matter what it's very hard to spray makes me feel better since it kills them and then I stay on top of it by constantly using a hot iron

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ It really works!!! BUT you MUST hit ALL areas!
*by S***A on February 1, 2015*

I have to say I can't believe this stuff really works just like all the other reviews have said. Bought it 4 yrs ago when my oldest was in kinder and got these nasty critters; but it took 10 days to arrive in the mail and by then I was able to pick everything out. So I saved it....hoping I would never have to use it...4 years later in 4th grade she gets it again. Found them on Thursday; picked several out then remembered I had this stuff, sprayed it on but only used about half the bottle b/c I wanted to treat her younger sis just incase....I French braided her hair and we went up to bed. By the time we got to her room 2 adult lice were crawling on her forehead essentially trying to escape the spray! When she woke in the morning we found a dead one on her pillow. Only found 1 live one and several dead nymphs on her morning check before school. When she came home rechecked, found a few dead ones (looked really tiny, newly hatched nymphs) Was out of spray and did NOT want to wait so long to receive it in the mail. Google helped me realize they sell this stuff at the local "blank"Mart for 3 bucks cheaper than on here, so I ran there and bought the 3 remaining bottles. Used an ENTIRE bottle on her hair (she has thin hair down to middle of back) went strand by strand. When I got to the nape of the neck 5 live adult lice were escaping. I put them on a paper towel and sprayed the heck out of them with the spray. 3 died instantly. 2 very large GROSS ones seemed to not be effected at all. So I put them in a cup and poured the stuff on them and they died within a minute. Checked last night after shower, nothing. Checked this morning and nothing. Dare I say we got them all...but Im gonna keep checking and prob spray her and her sis again in a week just to be sure... plus I have the bottles on hand so I can. So I would say this stuff REALLY WORKS BUT you really have to use a ton and some adult lice seem resistant or slow to die, so I would still recommend picking thru the head really good strand by strand at least once or twice. If you miss just one nit or louse the entire process has to start all over again. I know it is time consuming, takes me 90 minutes per child, but if they are really gone in just 3 days then it is totally worth it! I can't believe her little sis hasn't gotten it. There is a lice outbreak in her kinder class and the ONLY thing we do differently with her than her big sis is apply Fairy Tales conditioning leave in spray every morning after I braid her hair. Her big sis didn't like the smell so she refused it and she was the one who ended up with lice (after a sleep over I believe is where she got it). Guess who is going to get the fairy tale spray everyday now too ;) (also purchased at local "blank"Mart for cheaper and faster than online. If you ever have to deal with this disgusting creepy problem I would not hesitate to try this stuff FIRST than applying those nasty smelling chemicals to your kids head...but don't be fooled into false sense of security thinking all you have to do is spray it and go..you really do still need to pick thru the head and remove ANYTHING at all that you see that shouldn't be there...dead or not. Good Luck! UPDATE: I have had to use this spray a total of 3 times on my kids this year! They kept getting lice from the same little girl whose parents were not treating her :( All 3 times we became LICE FREE after the 1st use! Easiest way I think there is to rid of lice! All my little ones friends also got it from the original culprit and I recommended LF to them as well before they poured all that nasty chemical junk that doesn't work on their kids heads and they were all amazed. Lice literally were running down my daughters shirt to get off her hair, I only picked out 3 from her head and then 12 newly hatched nymphs on her shirt! SO GROSS! Never found another one again. I wrote the school and told them about it and with parental consent they treated the original child who continued to spread lice up to over 10 people in the class (ridiculous if you ask me!) And after like 7 treatments, the little girl was finally lice free by the end of the school year. I read some low star reviews of people saying the stuff is too expensive, but honestly, nothing is too expensive if if gets rid of your kids head bugs!!!! You MUST go strand by strand and drench the hair, pick out anything you see that shouldn't be there, dead or alive just to be sure. For my girls with long hair I separate in 2 sections and do one at a time and then French braid the half that is done and drench it again; then work my way to the other side of the head and repeat. I don't even wait to see a louse anymore, when my girls tell my their heads itch "like it did when I had bugs in it momma" I just grab the spray and drench them. Since it is chemical free and doesn't smell that terrible, we just do it. I keep 3 bottles on hand, one for each daughter and 1 for a friend/neighbor just in case! I never thought in a million years we would have lice this many times in our home in the course of our elementary school life, but that is naïve to think that way; just use this stuff as directed and you can rest easy!
