I like the dark raost but my wife likes the slightly weaker roast that comes in the red tin. I am not a great fan of decafe but the Illy is pretty good. You can programme the machine and it delivers the right amount consistently. The only issue is that you cannot make cappucino but I have recently bought an electric frother and serves me OK. Don't touch the X7 Illy machine. Although they look great I had two and both kept tripping the electrics. Amazon were great in refunding straight away. I think the problem is that that machine is manufactured in China whereas the one I now have is made in Italy. A quality control issue. **Q: are any pods supplied with the machine, please?** A: Mine came with somewhat over a dozen pods, mostly standard Illy (red) roast, and some dark roast (black), all individually packed in nitrogen for freshness. **Q: Does this come with uk plug???** A: Yes, with UK plug (adapter permanently Uk, as from the requirements of law UK). Best regards **Q: Does the machine require any maintenance? My DeLonghi is very difficult to clean.** A: This machine is very easy to clean. All you have to do is pull out the front compartment (the part that holds the used capsules) which then splits into two. The metal grill just sits on top of the compartment. You can also remove the front plastic cover from the compartment. This plastic has the illy name on it. As to the rest you only have to wipe down with a damp soap cloth. I haven't as yet descaled but instructions for that are given. I live a relatively hard water area and haven't had to do it yet. I have owned the machine for a year. I have this to be a great espresso maker and it makes consistently good coffee and I am fussy being half italian. ## Customer Reviews ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars Simple. However it is basically a simple machine, that does one thing (makes espresso) and does it consistently excellently. If you pre-heat the cup, temperature is perfect. I bought this system, rather than its George Clooney powered rival, because I like Illy coffee, and they don't provide coffee to Nespresso system suppliers. My friends serve me Nespresso, and its good, but this is just a little better.Machine is plastic and in no way fancy, but its well designed and I have had no problems at this stage, and I have very little manual dexterity.I previously had a machine with a milk steamer, worked poorly and was messy, so I didn't use it.
