The nibs are difficult to figure out If you have only worked with cartridge or refillable pen types previously. (including fountain & calligraphy pens) There is not great instruction on how to properly dip the nibs into ink, or how to properly switch each nib in/out of wooden pen. Careful if you have ink on nib & place into the holder to keep the pen upwrite... there is a hole on the bottom & the ink will drip through onto your expensive table if you do not have the wooden pen holder on top of any protected surface. Hopefully I can find additional sources to learn to use better... so far not so much luck. This set is keeping them entertained while practicing their writing and some ink drawings. Sure, the end result still looks like crap, but these things take time. There are a lot of nibs for practicing different stroke width. I'm not an expert on calligraphy writing utensils, but it does feel a bit flimsy.
