Recommendation: It comes with a heating element, thermostat and a thermal fuse, replace them all! My thermal fuse was flush-mounted on the aluminum housing where this new one had "stand-out" type legs for mounting; I figured it was to accomodate several type models of dryers and opted not to change it out. New heating element LIT UP like it should so I closed it up and the 2nd dryer load NO HEAT- the fuse had blown. Who knows how old the fuse on the dryer really was because I bought it used. NOW I realize the new fuse must be an upgrade on the design by it "standing off" the housing about 3/4" and therefore it is NOT subjecting to such high heat as per the old design. Anyway it ALL works GREAT! Review: It lasted almost exactly 2 years - I was pretty excited when I got this. It installed fairly easily and was a $25 fix to an otherwise expensive problem. However, the the components are cheap garbage. I ended up using the original fuse because the one in the new package didn't work. That's correct... didn't work. No power to the dryer when I pressed the button, which was one step worse than I started with. I did use the new thermostat but the metal is thin and flimsy, which I believe is probably what led to the heating element burning out in 2 years. But still, another $26 now (fort he "upgraded" model is better than buying a new dryer. I just wish they'd last 5 years or more. When it went out again I purchased another one from the same seller. I also reached out regarding some type of warranty. No response so far. Customer service has not been great.
