One end is a removable wax tip, while the other is a pin point metal tip that is about half of the size of the standard drill pen. The wax end in my opinion is useless. It will collect hair/dust/lint & anything else that is around it if it's not kept in its case. After one or two dots have been picked up its worn the tip down to a round nub that is in no way suitable for picking up small dots. The metal tip is alright except that its extremely hard on your project as it slips often & bc of its metal tip it scratches your dots, & can even rip your picture!! I wish it worked, they are super cute. Too bad. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ I find this much easer to use than than the regular supplied pens. *by O***E on Reviewed in the United States on May 31, 2019* I can use either side of the pin, I have been using one for almost a year now and never use anything else.
