I have a small home and the queen size bed in my spare room (which also function as my home office) just wasn't practical anymore given the rare occasions that I have overnight guests; it was taking up too much room. Also, because my house is 70 years old, it has a "quaint" sloping ceiling in the spare bedroom, making it impossible to fit a murphy/wall bed in here. I was excited when I came across this because it seemed like the perfect solution -- and it IS!The cabinet is really pretty -- lovely handles and knobs. Very sturdy, too. They seem to have thought of everything. The three mattress pieces fit into the cabinet beautifully, and everything locks up tight so it won't accidentally come open. Like another reviewer mention, it does seem odd that the bottom part if narrower than the top part -- would have been more aesthetically pleasing to have a fake bottom so that it was the same width as the top part.Don't be fooled into thinking the drawer is pretending to be functional because it's HUGE. I have two sets of queen sheets in there, AND queen down comforter. It's really nice.My recommendation is that you DON'T buy the "hey, do you want us to put it together for you?" at check out because the $89.95 they say it will cost is not even remotely accurate. I received an email from them saying "we have determined the furniture will require more time than we expected, so instead it will be $398." I had my handyman put it together for me and it took him about two hours -- and cost me $50.This really is a great piece of furniture if you're space-challenged. I like the fact that it didn't have to be built on arrival, or attached to the wall.The white-glove delivery was excellent and they even took it upstairs where it belonged.My only complaint is the fact that it sits too low on the carpet, which makes it hard to open and close the lower "drawer". However, after paying significantly more for this bed based on this description, I ended up with a bed that is very different! The description states that the finish is "distressed."
