I tried several different ways and could not get the clay side to work that well. The microfiber side is simple and not hard to get wrong. its the clay side where it falls short. Compared to a clay bar it was easier but only because you're not having to spray, scrub with a small clay piece and repeat that for every single inch of the car. This mitt has much more surface area and since it's already soaking wet it glides easily. But the clay side of the mitt just doesn't lift contaminants like a traditional clay bar would. I've also used different clay replacement type of products and those aren't much better but this mitt was the least effective. I can't say this is perfect, it does lift SOME contaminants but I can't say I would recommend this over a clay bar fully. Maybe do this every wash, it could work but if you're going after a perfect contaminant free paint surface this isn't it. This mitt could be used as maintenance maybe. Price is also just not there but it's not horrible either.
