Review: Adds a cool tiki-ish vibe to the pool patio area (updated after one year) - Our pool's covered patio bar has a tiki theme, so we were hoping these torches would carry that vibe out around the pool. They are perfect. From a distance they really do resemble a burning flame, and even close up they still give that tiki torch feeling to the area. I hope they last a couple of seasons, but time will tell. Their fire color is an orangy color, a little more to the red compared to our gas fire pit's flames but they look nice together lit up. I was a little concerned that they wouldn't be tall enough for my taste, but they're plenty tall and compliment the surroundings. The one thing I would like to see as an improvement would be a sensitivity control. It comes on when it's the darker part of dusk, and I would prefer it to come on when it's just a little bit lighter outside. Even a manual "on" switch would be helpful so that they could be lit earlier when we have people over. That's only a suggestion and not a complaint, so no stars deducted for it. The quality of the light is nice, and they all four come on as they're supposed to, although at different times spanning two or three minutes. Battery life seems excellent. I onboxed them and set them out around 2pm on a hazy afternoon so I didn't expect them to burn for long that night, but they were all still on when I got up the next morning at 5am. I'm overall very happy with the purchase. UPDATE: It's a little over a year later and I still maintain the 5 star rating, and would give it even more stars for durabilty and reliability if it were possible. They stayed outside around the pool from March 2020 through the summer, as well as staying out there through the winter to the present time. Now in May of 2021 and they still look and work like new. I totally expected at least one or two of them to stop working by now, so I'm very impressed and happy. BTW, I rarely do a review update unless it was a problem involved. This may be the first time I've ever done an update because of how happy I am after a year of use.

Next day was sunny for the time needed to charge. Turned them to solar before sunset and could't wait to see the end result at dark. I was blown away! They look soooo real! Another feature that is amazing is you can decide if you want a long pole or short. I used 3 long and 1 short so to get a uniform placement in my space. If you're looking for beautiful solar torches that look like real flame...this is the one!! I just received these and put them outside, so I can't speak for longevity. I'll update this post if I find they don't last as stated, but I don't think that's going to happen. Update: So here it is almost March 2024 & I’m thrilled to report these SAME torches are STILL going strong, beautiful as ever! Update March 2025: Another year & these same torches are still lighting up like they were brand new! Well, 3 of the 4 are. Somehow I damaged the 4th one during a snow we had in January. This is the one in a flower pot. It was working perfectly until I brought the pot onto the porch to protect the plant. I’m not sure if the problem is with the switch or the charging panel. They have performed above & beyond! Losing one after 4 1/2 years of service…and looks like my own doings…I’m not about to complain. I’m actually about to order another set!

Wonderfully bright. Good charging. Love the flame effect. Lighting lasts until the wee hours of the morning after all day in the sun. Our last set of two torches lasted about two years through all kinds of weather—storms and the blistering desert heat. Replaced with a new set from this same "Ollivage" brand and couldn't be happier.
