Less digging and running cable, to say nothing of the electricity. So I have been purchasing a lot over the last few years.Some are ok, some have been junk. This one is neither. It is superb.I waited a little while before writing this to give me time to see how well it works. And I must say after a few weeks of various winter (low light levels)and cloudy days, to no sun at all days. It has performed well. I have also tried moving it to different locations around the yard and it has worked so well that I will be ordering a couple others for those spots. I cannot say for longevity yet. Which I consider a year or more. But for a few weeks with some nasty weather, it works well. Oh, I forgot to mention it puts out a lot of light and has two poles so you can adjust the height. I currently have 8 stainless steel solar lights lining my walkway and they usually go dark around 11:30 pm and they provide more accent rather than functional lighting. When I received this light I placed it next to my current lights and it was amazingly much, much brighter. Before going to bed around midnight the other solar lights were already dimming out and this one was still shining brightly. I again checked around 4 am and it was still shining brightly and has done so for the past 2 weeks, including cloudy and rainy days. I moved this solar light next to our entry steps to illuminate the area. Will be purchasing another soon. Otherwise, the light works well and functions as described.Edit: Forgot to come back and update now that there has been longer daylight hours. This light is phenomenal and well worth the extra money over the cheap ones available elsewhere. The light casts well in the area it is placed in, marking the edge of the ditch.
