You can fold the fabric to make it more like a visor, though that feels a little tight on my head. The bill is foam, I didn’t realize that before I bought it. Though I imagine that makes it better for washing. I have not washed it yet. I like that I can tuck the sides over my ears, to keep my ears from sunburn. So far, so good. I hope the foam doesn't lose structure after a while.
