On the back seam, not counting the strap nor the open space 4 1/4". Eyeballing the perpendicular from the tabletop to the button it looks like 5", but I've curved my brim a bit so that may add height. **Q: Is the off-center brim intentional, like is a style?** A: I take you already own one of these caps and that is feels like the brim is off center? Not light purple, not faded/distressed, not super dark like almost black. The manufacturer tag in the hat is "Gelante". Many other distributors on Amazon sell the same hat but don't mention that it is Gelante. Shipped well, fit and adjustment works well. It is good value for the price. 100% Cotton. I would recommend this hat for this price. Good basic hat, low price. It is a low-profile hat, so snugger low-rise style. If you want it to be even snugger then I suggest using a hat washer cleaning frame to place the hat into and then into a washing machine. Then into the dryer.
