## Description

Product description          This is the honey for longevity - according to beekeepers! This delicious and very rare Erica heather honey is only found in Greece and parts of Turkey. Also known as Erica verticillata or Autumn Heather because the flower blooms fin Autumn from August to October. In Greece it is called Reikomelo (Reiki honey). It is a dark strongly flavored honey, mildly sweet and high in trace minerals. It crystallizes quickly, within 2 to 3 months of harvest, so is almost always crystallised by the time it arrives in the UK. But if anything this adds to the uniqueness of the honey as it is not a 'sugary' crystallisation but more of a fudge. The color is lighter with crystallization. Erica Honey is renowned in Greece for its high nutritional value, thanks to its highg content of pollen, and its minerral content (silicon, boron and barium). It is a strong tasting honey, with a delicoius aroma reminiscentn of a finfe brandy, whilst its colour is a coppery beige. The heather flower is very sensitive to weather and production of this honey is very variable. Our bee keepers literally -chase the flowers' by moving their beehives around Greece to find the best flowers. Many Greeks will therefore buy this honey and store it for later use, whenever it is available. We are delighted to be able to bring this rare, extremely nutritional honey.
