Review: I’m totally speechless!!! - I’ve been playing for 30+ years. You name it I’ve played it. From low end beginner guitars to some very high end guitars. I bought this guitar because of the American Flag finish. I figure at $180 if it’s a flop I’m not out a lot. I ordered it up and it showed up literally the next day!! Opening the box it was packed extremely well. Perfect cutout in the styrofoam and covered. I did notice the styrofoam had left a few noticeable marks on the finish. They’re not scratches and I’m sure I can polish them out. Moving on I wasn’t expecting much for $180. The overall finish was beautiful. Has a set neck. Ebony fretboard with very nice fretwork. No sharp edges and they’re all nice and level. The weight is there for mahogany. The tuners aren’t Grover’s but a very high quality tuner. I was sure it would need the neck adjusted due to its travels and the different weather conditions so a few turns with the supplied Allen wrench and all was good. It was unplayable before I adjusted the neck. That was to be expected. After I tuned it up and plugged it in. What I heard coming from my amplifier made me stop playing and take a second look at the guitar. I started playing again and couldn’t believe the sound that was coming out of my amp. The stock pick ups are extremely hot and pick up pinch harmonics like much higher end pickups. Lots of clarity and chunky tones came out of this thing. No scratchy pots, and good tuning stability. This thing plays like some of my higher end guitars. I’m still shocked that a guitar this good can cost so little. It’s a hidden gem for sure. Can’t wait to take it out on tour and put it through its paces.
Review: Excellent guitars that will need some TLC. Amazing guitar and sound! - I'm reading some of the reviews and glad I didn't listen to some one offs. This is a solid guitar at this price range! I had an Epiphone 'similiar' model which didn't compare. Sorry never a Gibson owner because of the price! I'm not knocking Gibson or Les Paul but you charge way too much for your guitars! I'll start with the CONS: First, you have to know how to setup your guitar. If not have a local tech do. Should be less than $100 or learn yourself. Slight fret buzz but not bad (some metal shavings came off from the dremel polishing), lowered the action, the strings were fine (.10s I think) if I could salvage them. But cut em. Polish the frets, oil the fretboard, check your truss rod (mine didn't need adjusting)!! Check your intonation in case. This all goes for a $3000 guitar too ya know!! USA driven, China manufactured, to check for QA. PROs: This has become my new favorite guitar! It's beautiful! The hardware, body is solid, pickups, pots, detail, all good. Heavy but what a quality tone. Excellent! If you have an issue out of the box I expect good things from Leo support, didnt need yet. Please dont dissapoint Leo service! Play through some 'decent gear' and it sounds bright, vivid, loud, beautiful. Overall: Impressed does not explain my first reaction. I bought the Tempest model because I am just overall curious about Leo design, quality, and beauty at this price point! I expect this guitar to remain one of my favs! Update Mar31st - Needed to order a new bridge since E, B were rocking and loose. Asked LJ for support. They offered $20 to replace the bridge. Ok so I did. Next purchase I may send back to desertcart if it has issues. Leo Jaymz support is all email. Support lacks a decent response and time. A live person would be nice too! Add 4-28 Also bought the US Flag guitar. Needed the nut raised slightly. Put some thin double adhesive under it, glued it back in. It's a cheap nut unfortunately but works. Got the annoying mysterious buzz out and action lowered more too. Now it rocks! Still the bridge is cheap and will replace. These things setup right are hard to beat for this price. Sounds amazing!

### ⭐⭐⭐⭐ Overall an impressive guitar with some minor caveats
*by A***D on July 27, 2025*

I got this guitar because I had seen so many positive reviews on various platforms. I got the Green and Black one. PROs: The tuners. I had planned on putting black tuners on the guitar (I still did) and expected poor quality because of other brands. The stock 18:1 tuners on this were legit. I am saving them for someone who can use a new set. The "feel". Feels like a quality instrument in my hands. Looks good with black tuners, pickups, and hardware but those were upgrades. Wiring was fine. Dime pots, of course, but nothing poorly soldered or lacking. Small generic caps but the volume and tone knobs work fine. The CONS: Mine arrived with a lot of body blemishes. I was going to polish it anyway, but I would have been really sad if this was my first guitar. From 10 feet away the guitar looked exactly like the pictures, but when you looked closely this one slipped by the QC people. High Frets: From about 14 up, it was brutal. Just not good. Leaving 4 stars because of the overall but with a bound neck their QC really was asleep at the wheel the day this one came down the assembly line. Nothing else: For the $200 I spent, planning to mod this, I am really happy with my purchase. Although I didn't have the euphoric unboxing some people did, I got a good guitar that i can upgrade and make awesome buth this is NOT for beginners.
