About the size of mini candy bars

*by H***H on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 25, 2018*

If you're like me, you can read the specs on an object (size, weight, relative dimensions, etc.) all day w/o being able to REALLY envision the thing. To be able to accurately and clearly picture the dimensions of something i havent personally viewed, I need a "real life measuring stick", so to seak. For example, if somone says something 150' long, I imagine sitting in my long time college football season ticket seat in the south end zone of the stadium (cheap seats! well, RELATIVELY speaking), looking straight up the left hash. 150' = 50 yards; so thats from the back of the endzone to the near 40 yard line. I that context I see it clear as day--could probably even pace it off pretty accurately. 150' though, I have no idea. The point is that the bars of compound are very nearly the exact of a miniature candy bar, like they have esp at Halloween. About the length and width of a mini Twix but taller, like a mini Snickers.Believe it not I don't eat many candy bars, but these little bars of compound are so close in size its uncanny, and when I opened their box the candy bar comparison immediately jumped to mind. That amount, by the way, looks like it will last many months for the green and red; over a year for the white. A good deal for sure.

    I like the variety pack

*by I***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on July 8, 2018*

Works well for honing my pocket knife. I like the variety pack, good for people like me who haven't tried this type of sharpening before and aren't sure what grit they want. What I settled on so far is using my fine grit sharpening stone, then switching to paracord with some of the green compound, then paracord with the red, then plain paracord. I'm still working on my technique, can't quite get sharp enough to shave my face with a self-sharpened blade, but arm hairs can be shaven off like mowing grass where before (with just the fine grit block) shaving arm hairs was doable but difficult and irritating to the skin. I'm gonna try making some sharpening blocks with this stuff on cardboard so that I can use them with a clamp and guide.

    A bit too hard

*by H***N on Reviewed in the United States 🇺🇸 on February 5, 2019*

I am sure I am going to get some flak for my following comments but I used these polishing compounds on my stopping leather. Green on the soft part and white on the rough side. Now rubbing these compounds is pretty tough. I understand that you can either warm the compound on a stove top before spreading it and that it does not need to be spread over the whole strop as the spreading will happen while stropping the blade but still... It is pretty tough. Results wise, I have not been too impressed yet. I never got to the razor sharp stage with any of my knives. I actually feel that it went the way around, which is kind of strange since I am not cutting in the strop so I should not damage the sharpness of the blade at all...In conclusion: I am certainly not skilled enough to get to the razor sharp level.
