This particular laptop can handle up to 32 GB, but my needs aren't great enough to justify replacing both sticks of ram and I'll take the slight performance hit not running dual channel. Other than having to peel back the rubber strips to expose 4 of the 8 bottom screws, installation was easy in its open ram slot. Since I kept the existing 4 GB, the HP now has 20 GB of ram -- much more befitting of its Ice Lake i5 processor.
