"Adult" doctors (ex: gynecologists) sometimes have an actual model of an organ on their desk, but it is now a rarity. Now it is mostly posters and made/distributed by a pharmaceutical company at that.Now, I'm a 38-year-old pediatrician. Explaining to parents why children get frequent ear infections from a poster is ridiculous. This model makes my job easier because it features the almost horizontal eustachian tube all children have. I keep it in one of the exam rooms and move it to other rooms as needed. It has held quite well. The model doesn't have any detachable pieces (perfect for small children) and otherwise, it is accurate. The plastic model can rotate on the metal rod, which I find distracting and potentially dangerous. It should have the option to be fixed in place. The card is on heavy cardstock.
