He has short term working memory issues on top of other things. However these books aren’t repetitive and don’t use the same words on every other page which is great for him and helps alleviate a lot of his frustrations. Plus they are entertaining to him and read like a book, not a comic book style. Comic book styles are hard and not fun to read to your kid, these are great. ### ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ 5.0 out of 5 stars My Book Hater Becomes a Book Lover *by P***E on Reviewed in the United States on August 15, 2010* (This review refers to the books as a group/series and not this volume specifically) We got two Ricky Ricotta books from a neighbor. My seven-year-old son, going into second grade, has trouble reading and does not like books. He barely likes to be read to. The only book of any size he actually enjoyed was Charlie and the Chocolate Factory, but he lost interest in James and the Giant Peach, The Wind in the Willows, Howl's Moving Castle, and many others. When he saw these Mighty Robot books he immediately became enthusiastic, and so we now own all seven (and are looking forward to the last two in the series), and we read every night, at least one chapter, sometimes five chapters. He stares at the pictures, arranges the books in order, carries them around the house, and we have long discussions about the stories and the characters. As some of the reviewers have noted, the books are constructed cheaply, and the flip-o-rama (where a page is flipped back and forth to give the illusion of animation) makes short work of the bindings, but they're not expensive books to replace (just buy them new). I need to send Dav Pilkey a thank-you letter. This book was for my kid. They love Ricky Ricotta and reads and re-reads these books often. I'm excited for there to be more volumes because these stories keep my kid reading.
