That is the way it is designed. All of the electric jacks work at about that speed, some slightly faster some slightly slower. You have to remember physics. You would have to have a much larger more power demanding motor to lift it. It is as fast or faster than cranking it by hand and way eaisier. This one is well built and has served me well. It even lifts the front of my trailer off the ground so only rear jacks are touching.
